By Invitation Only
Twelve people. Chosen for their judgment, their integrity, and their understanding of what it means to build something that lasts.
Why Twelve
Twelve founding members means the founder knows every one of them personally before the first Covenant is issued. It means the first twelve Covenants are not a launch campaign — they are twelve genuine relationships. It means the waiting list that forms after the Founding 12 closes is not manufactured scarcity. It is real.
What This Means
The twelve founding members are not customers. They are co-authors of the brand's first chapter. In twenty years, when AETHEL has served hundreds of clients across two generations, the Founding 12 will be what they have always been: the twelve people who were there at the beginning.
That number does not change. That distinction does not diminish.
"I named this brand for my sons. I want them to know it started with honesty."
— The Founder, AETHEL

A dedicated founding member section in the Maker's Archive, noting your role in the brand's first chapter — for you, and for your children.
The Founding Allocation
The Founding 12 is not entered through an application form or a price on a page. The founding allocation is a private arrangement — discussed in person, confirmed by the founder, and structured in two stages that mirror the depth of the relationship.
The first stage secures the position. The second stage, made upon acceptance, completes the founding allocation and is applied in full toward your commissions. No founding member enters AETHEL without the founder knowing exactly who they are.
The Guarantee
If you are not accepted, your commitment is returned in full. No founding member leaves AETHEL with less than they came with. The allocation is not a fee. It is the beginning of a relationship.
The Experience
The Conversation
The founder reaches out personally. Not a pitch — a conversation. He explains what AETHEL is, why he built it, and why he believes you belong in the first twelve.
The First Appointment
The founder arrives at a time and place of your choosing. You experience the brand as every client will — the kit, the fabrics, the process. The Founding Kit is presented after the Covenant is signed.
The Covenant
A physical document, letterpress-printed on cotton rag paper, sealed with wax. The Named Maker. Lifetime Restoration. Generational Transfer. The Founder's Personal Contact. Signed by both of you.
The Annual Dinner
Once a year, the founder hosts a private dinner for the Founding 12. The venue changes. The conversation is private. This is the most exclusive gathering AETHEL will ever host.
The Standard
The Founding 12 is not an application process. It is a selection process. The founder identifies and invites each founding member personally.
01
Known in their community for making choices that others respect and emulate. Not for spending money — for the quality of judgment.
02
Their opinion carries weight with the specific people AETHEL wants to reach. Measured in trust, not follower counts.
03
Their word means something. If they say AETHEL is exceptional, the people who hear them believe it without reservation.
04
They understand what AETHEL is building. They value quality, honesty, and the idea of building something that lasts.
05
They will tell the founder when something is not right. The first twelve Covenants set the standard for every Covenant that follows.
"When the twelfth Covenant is signed, the Founding 12 closes permanently. That number does not change. That distinction does not diminish."
Express Your Interest
The Founding 12 is by invitation. But if you believe you meet the criteria and understand what AETHEL is building, you may express your interest here. The founder reviews every submission personally.
