Feadship / Lürssen Private Unveilings

Location

Netherlands & Germany

When

By Invitation — Year-Round

THE EVENT

The private unveilings hosted by Feadship and Lürssen — the two most prestigious superyacht builders in the world — are not public events. They are invitations. A new hull, years in the making, is presented to its owner and to a small number of guests who have been chosen with care. These are the most intimate gatherings in the superyacht world.

WHY WE ARE HERE

The person who commissions a Feadship or Lürssen understands, at the deepest level, what it means to build something to a standard rather than to a price. They have spent years working with designers, engineers, and craftspeople to create something that will outlast them. They are AETHEL's ideal client — not because of their wealth, but because of their understanding.

A RECORD — THE FOUNDER

"He was invited because he knew the owner — not well, but enough. He stood at the stern of the new hull and looked at the joinery in the main saloon for a long time. The owner came to stand beside him. Neither of them spoke for a while. Then the owner said: 'You see it.' He said: 'The grain matches across the seam. Someone spent a week finding those two pieces of wood.' The owner said: 'Three weeks.' They shook hands."

The founder's identity is known only to the Founding 12. What follows is the record of what was said before it was done.
