The Mediterranean charter season is not an event. It is a circuit — a three-month migration of the world's most discerning travelers through the waters of the Aegean and Adriatic. The islands, the ports, the private anchorages: each one a gathering place for people who have chosen to spend their summer in the most considered way they know.
WHY WE ARE HERE
The charter client is in a particular state of mind: unhurried, open, away from the structures of their ordinary life. They are more receptive than they are at any other time of year. A conversation on a dock in Hydra or at a table in Dubrovnik can become a relationship that lasts a decade. AETHEL is built for exactly this kind of beginning.
A RECORD — THE FOUNDER
"He chartered a sailing yacht — not a motor yacht, a sailing yacht, because he believed that the way you moved through the water said something about the way you moved through the world. He anchored off a small island in the Cyclades and swam to shore. At the taverna, a man at the next table recognized the quality of the linen shirt he was wearing and asked about it. He said: 'I had it made.' The man asked by whom. He said: 'Someone who understood what I was trying to say.'"
